Charcoal Portrait on a Gelli Plate

Join me on a unique artistic adventure. I've boldly combined my Gelli Plate with the natural charm of charcoal and pastel, exploring new territory in my artwork. A year on, I'm sharing my expertise in a special Gelli Plate class on Skillshare.

Materials

• Gelli Plate

• Charcoal

• Copy paper

• Newspaper

• Brayer

• Soft Pastel or Pan Pastel

• Scissors (or applicator if you use Pan Pastel

• Acrylic paint

• Sketchbook

Instructions

• Draw with charcoal on a Gelli Plate

• Press the charcoal drawing on the PLate

• Dab newspaper scraps on the Gelli Plate

• Add pastel chalk to the plate to give it a bit of misty color

• Roll acrylic paint on top of it (Gently!)

• Lift off you print with a sketchbook (of a piece of paper)
